Director of Iranian short ‘Retouch’ has grabbed an award at the 4th edition of the BangkokThai International Film Festival (BangIFF).
The Iranian director Kaveh Mazaheri won best direction award at the Special Prizes section of the Thai event.
Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.
The film has so far participated in many international film festivals, including the 13th Cyprus Film Festival, the 5th Basta International Film Festival in Serbia, and the 2018 Orvieto Cinema Fest in Italy.
It has previously won Best Short Film awards at the Krakow International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival, all in the US.
‘Retouch’ has also grabbed the Best Fiction Film award at the Short Movie Club in Belarus, the Best International Short award at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival in Ireland, and the top prize for best short film as well as the audience choice award at the Ibn Arabi International Film Festival in Spain.
Some of its recent awards include the 2nd Best Film award from the 10th Short Waves Festival in Poland, Shorts TV Award from the 20th Mecal Pro short Film Festival in Spain, and Best Actress Award at the 1st Sukhum International Film Festival in Abkhazia.
Best Actress Award at the 2018 Brussels Short Film Festival in Belgium, best film award at the 12th SorsiCorti Short Film Festival in Italy, best actress award at the 3rd Gosh! Film Festival in France, Best Short Film Award at the 16th One Shot Film Festival in Armenia, special jury award at the 2018 Santiago del Estero Film Festival in Argentina, Best Film Award at the 4th Veracruz Short Film Festival in Mexico, as well as Audience Choice, Best Screenplay and Best Film awards at the 2018 Wiz-Art International Short Film Festival in Ukraine are among the latest achievements by ‘Retouch’.
The latest edition of the BangIFF was held on October 14-17.
